The ETW-8 configuration provides eight continuous conductors through the hinge, allowing low-voltage power and control wiring to pass from the frame into the door without an exposed door cord.

Key Features

4-1/2 in. x 4-1/2 in. commercial full-mortise hinge

ETW-8 concealed electric through-wire configuration

Eight continuous 28-gauge conductors

Two ball bearings for smooth, reliable door operation

Five-knuckle design

Standard-weight steel construction with steel pin

Designed for medium-weight doors and medium-frequency service

Low-voltage power transfer up to 48 VDC

Rated up to 3.5 amps continuous or 16 amps pulse/inrush

ANSI A8112

UL Listed

Complies with NFPA 80 requirements when used in appropriate fire-rated door assemblies

8-Wire Power Transfer for Access Control

The ETW-8 modification provides eight concealed conductors through the hinge barrel. This gives installers additional conductor capacity for compatible electrified locks, electrified trim, latch-retraction hardware, request-to-exit devices, door monitoring, signaling and other low-voltage access-control functions.

An electrified hinge keeps the power-transfer wiring concealed between the frame and door, providing a cleaner finished installation than an exposed armored door loop. Hager recommends electrically modified hinges be installed in the center hinge location. Always verify the connected hardware's voltage, current draw and conductor requirements before installation.

Commercial Access Control Installation in Austin, Texas

Avenger Security Services / Security Tekton installs and services commercial access-control systems and electrified door hardware throughout Austin, Round Rock, Georgetown, Cedar Park, Pflugerville and Central Texas.
