How a Brivo provider transfer works

1. Tell us about your system. Send your property address, approximate door count, current provider and the support you need. Let us know whether your organization has Brivo administrator access; do not send passwords.
2. Review the account and costs. We confirm the authorized account owner, subscription, equipment and transfer eligibility. You receive the proposed recurring service, transfer fee and any separate on-site work before authorizing the change.
3. Coordinate Brivo's transfer process. We help with the required account-transfer steps and customer authorization. Brivo carries out approved transfers under its current policies and procedures.
4. Plan the support handoff. We review administrator access, users, credentials, schedules and door issues, then agree on any training, repairs or ongoing support needed.

Transfer eligibility: Brivo's published terms allow an account-transfer request when the customer is current and compliant with its contractual obligations to the existing reseller. Eligibility, required documentation and timing must be confirmed for your account. A provider transfer does not cancel obligations under your existing agreement or automatically repair door hardware.

Transfer cost: A Brivo account transfer typically carries a $220.00 administrative fee; the exact amount is confirmed before authorization. Recurring subscriptions, repairs, programming changes, equipment and on-site service are quoted separately.

Cloud control with local door intelligence

Authorized administrators can manage users and credentials, review activity and control supported doors through Brivo's web and mobile tools. Brivo states that compatible panels retain credentials and rules locally so normal door decisions can continue during an internet interruption. Remote management and cloud reporting require connectivity.

Credentials and reader choices

Depending on the selected edition and hardware, Brivo can support mobile credentials, cards, fobs and PINs. New installations generally benefit from modern encrypted credentials and OSDP reader communication. Existing Wiegand wiring or readers may sometimes be reused after compatibility and condition are verified, but Wiegand is a legacy protocol and may not provide the same security capabilities.

Door hardware is part of the design

Brivo cloud management and local door controllers must be coordinated with a physical opening that works safely and reliably. We review each door for the appropriate reader, controller, power, door contact, request-to-exit device and locking hardware.

• Fail-secure electric strikes, electrified locksets or motorized latch retraction are preferred where the opening and code requirements allow.
• Magnetic locks are not our standard approach and are considered only when the door, life-safety design and authority having jurisdiction support them.
• Request-to-exit devices monitor or suppress egress-related events; they are not used as the only means of releasing a door where free egress is required.
• Final hardware and fire-alarm interface requirements follow the approved plans, listed equipment and the authority having jurisdiction.
