See Access Control Hardware Work in the Field

Proper access control is more than software. Door hardware, electric strikes, readers, REX devices, door contacts, power supplies, and wiring all need to be installed correctly for the system to operate reliably.

Door Hardware Matters

Brivo controls the credential and access decision, but the door hardware performs the physical work. Avenger Security reviews the full opening before recommending locks, strikes, readers, request-to-exit devices, door position switches, and power supplies.

  • Electric strikes
  • Motorized latch retraction
  • Door position switches
  • Request-to-exit devices
  • Supervised power supplies
  • Code-compliant free egress

How Brivo Access Control Works

Brivo door controllers connect readers, locks, request-to-exit devices, door position switches, and supervised power to the Brivo cloud. Administrators manage users, groups, permissions, and schedules in a simple dashboard. Changes sync to the site so access can be updated quickly without rekeying doors or manually collecting keys.

1. Credential

A user presents a card, fob, mobile pass, or PIN at the reader.

2. Decision

Brivo checks the user, door, schedule, and permission rules.

3. Unlock

The controller triggers the lock, electric strike, latch retraction, or gate relay when access is approved.

4. Audit Trail

Events are logged for visibility, reporting, investigations, and administration.
